This year Dualit is 'toasting' 70 years of innovation! Their first patented product was a flip-side toaster built in 1946 by inventor and
founder Max Gort-Barten. Dualit, originally named Dualit Works, remains an independently owned, family operated British business. The iconic Dualit
toaster is one that garners much attention and discussion here at Bradshaws. Yes, the Dualit toaster might be the priciest toaster you have seen but let
us tell you why...
Dualit toasters have been hand built in the UK since the 1950's, and you can find
the assembler's name on the base plate! They are made from cast aluminum and stainless steel bodies and with fully replaceable or repairable parts. Dualit's
patented Proheat element has a protective armour coating making it virtually unbreakable. Each toaster is put through 10 – 11 000 running cycles,
and quality checked 3 times before it leaves the factory as part of Dualit's meticulous quality control. These toasters have been taken on nuclear submarines
and in the air, have traveled around the world with single owners and last for generations! Dalit toasters are fit for a Queen, literally! Dualit toasters
equip the Queen's Royal Kitchen!

Royal Doulton, established in 1815, celebrates 200 years of quality craftsmanship and innovation this year! This world famous company
began as a small pottery on the banks of the Avon River that specialized in utilitarian wares. Shortly after, they revolutionized the ceramics industry
by creating sanitary stoneware pipes for plumbing. To this day, many of the glazed stoneware pipes that lie beneath the streets of London and in major
cities worldwide were manufactured at Doulton’s Lambeth factory in the early nineteenth century. Queen Victoria knighted Henry Doulton in 1887 for his
services to ceramics and the advancement of ceramic art. In 1901, Doulton & Co received its first Royal Warrant and the right to use 'Royal' in the
name by King Edward VII. To celebrate their 200th anniversary, this year Royal Doultan has collaborated with several artists and world-class designers
to create some incredible limited edition items, like “Little London” by Charlene Mullen.
Charlene Mullen is a London based homewares designer specialising in textiles and embroidery. “Little London” recreates Charlene's favourite London landmarks
and icons cast in porcelain and decorated with illustrations in her signature hand-drawn style. Bold black and white decoration features across all of
the buildings with Charlene's favourite dash of red on the world famous London Routemaster bus. Little London is fun, beautiful and practical; use it for
storage and serving!
